AP Source: Indians president Shapiro leaving for Blue Jays (Yahoo Sports)

Cleveland Indians president Mark Shapiro talks about the renovations to Gate C Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, in Cleveland. Gate C will have dramatic views of the Cleveland Skyline from inside the ballpark. The changes at Progressive Field will include a new two-story bar, and an expanded section for children and other amenities. Most of the changes will be in the right-field sections. The work is expected to be mostly completed by opening day next season and will reduce seating capacity from 43,000 to about 38,000. (AP Photo/Tony Dejak)

A person familiar with the decision says Indians president Mark Shapiro is leaving the team to take the same job with the Toronto Blue Jays. Shapiro, who has been with Cleveland since 1992, will replace Paul Beeston, Toronto's CEO and president who is retiring. Shapiro served as Cleveland's minor league director and general manager before becoming Cleveland's president following the 2010 season.
