Max Scherzer of the Washington Nationals allowed his first hit of the game against the Cincinnati Reds with one out in the eighth inning, a single by Tucker Barnhart. Barnhart hit Scherzer's 105th pitch Monday to left field on a 1-2 count. This is Washington's home finale, a game originally scheduled for July 8 but postponed because of rain.
